As a wedding photographer in the YYC area for 10 years my lens was witness to the authentic moments of joy, love and connection within the YYC wedding space, but eventually I took a step back to focus on belonging projects. During that period, I had the joy of meeting my favorite human, Steph (she/her), and our engagement opened the door to an entirely new experience for me – as a customer in the wedding industry.

The Story
The excitement of planning our day quickly gave way to a concern we hadn't anticipated. As we began searching for wedding vendors, we found ourselves facing an unexpected challenge. We had no clear way of knowing which vendors were genuinely inclusive and supportive of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Delving deeper into this endeavor, I was heartened to discover a community of vendors who shared my passion. Many were equally committed to offering an open and inclusive wedding experience. Some, while enthusiastic, were unsure about the best ways to ensure an environment of acceptance. Heather, Sadie, and Todd all reached out immediately to ask what they could do. This is where our website comes into play.
Through discussions, the idea for this platform emerged. It's a place where couples can find vendors who are not only accepting but actively committed to providing a safe and respectful experience full of the joy everyone deserves. This is a place where you can reach out to any vendor on the list, knowing they are behind you, and no longer have to have that unease as you plan.
